BIOGRAPHY
Chrissie Clees, under the studio name "Detreux" has been active in the local art and electronic music communities in the Detroit area for nearly two decades. Her inventive, and often thought provoking work has been featured in local publications such as "Real Detroit Weekly" and "The Metro Times", as well as showcased at The Cranbrook Art Museum, The Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF aka Movement) and countless other events over the last 15 years. Chrissie has also been a featured guest on Detroit's 101.9 FM, WDET's "Chuck Horn Show" program, speaking about her endeavors. Some of her most famous work has been utilized on promotional materials and label art throughout the US and Europe.
Over the years, Ms. Clees has also published many of her own handcrafted books. These global publications demonstrated her unique talent in organic Photography and her highly decorative and favored hand-made paper and large scale Mixed Media Collages. This era marked the beginning of her infamous "Box of Detreux", and continues to be the platform for her most private collections.
Today Chrissie's primary focus is Photography and Design for performers and producers/DJs around the globe c/o her own company, Detreux Designs, est in 1999.
